Kareen booked me through the Glasgow Girls Wedding Guide and whilst we were able to talk on the phone, we weren’t able to meet up ahead of the wedding. This was due to the fact that the wedding party were travelling from the Shetland Islands.
On the morning of their wedding at the Cruin, Loch Lomond sadly the heavens opened and it pretty much stayed wet all day, moving to strong winds and gales come night time!
The weather though didn’t spoil their day. The Cruin is a beautiful setting on the Loch and a firm favourite with couples as a wedding venue. You only have to look at the views to understand why.
After filming bridal preparations at the Bridal Lodge, I moved round to the venue to capture the arrival of the guests and the bridal party.
Photographs had to be taken inside but Kareen & Kenneth did make it outside on to the pier for some stunning shots.
The big surprise on the day was a fireworks display which none of the guests, even the couple’s family were aware of. There were times when we weren’t sure if it would go ahead because of the weather but it did and was hugely enjoyed by everyone. This was my first time filming a display at a wedding and it seemed a perfect way to end such a happy, lovely day for the couple.
This is the wedding highlights video with a rather emotional piece of music which I’ve heard piped at many weddings.
